“If a goal is worth having, it’s worth blocking out the time in your day-to-day life necessary to achieve it.”

—Jill Koenig

Setting a goal inherently means that achieving it will not happen in an instant. Just like seeds take time to bear fruit, reaching a new goal requires exploring new growth. This is why it’s important to take your time when creating a plan of action.

Since you know your goals better than anyone, you also know best what steps you will need to take and why. At the rate we’re going, parity for women in the United States is still five generations away. Yet we return to our gardens of creativity every year, planting the seeds of power and possibility, paving our way forward.

However you envision your flourishing garden, the process of growing will be as rich and rewarding as you want it to be. Some of us flip like a switch into gardening mode, finding satisfaction with each seed watered and weed pulled. Get it, girl! Others will prefer to take their time, singing with the birds and greeting the bees as we tend to new growth. Some seeds may take longer to sprout than others just like others stay almost fully underground.

Whatever your goal or process, remember… you’re in this for growth and fulfillment.

It is inevitable that you will come across obstacles on your way. There are standards and biases challenging us throughout our lives and we will meet the majority of them when our creative solutions find a better way to move forward. We have dealt with these our whole lives as women, though some obstacles will be unique and require your creativity to further shine through.

Whatever your journey holds, trust that your mind, body, and spirit know how to navigate them. As long as you continue to nourish those parts of you, your intuition will keep you grounded in your truth.

Now is the time to get rooted, queens. Take time this week to focus on who, where, and what keeps you tethered to your goals. Remind yourself of what they do for you, and what you do to maintain that presence in your life.

In fact, now is also an excellent time to explore new grounding techniques that will help you along your journey. Is there a hobby you have been dying to try? A book you have been wanting to write, or a project that always gets pushed to the back burner? Do it now. Start it right now, even if it means sitting down and saying “I have no idea what to do!” … because that’s how you make a plan of action. That’s when you know your seeds are ready to take root.

We are wrapping up our shiny new collaboration announcement with a big bow to be delivered to you next week!
