Happy Garden Party, Virtuosas! Whether you are creating your vision board in solitary satisfaction or gathering with a group, the seeds of fulfillment are being planted simply by recognizing what you aim to achieve.
When we began embracing a seasonal perspective, it became a brand new way to live life and navigate the world as a woman. We began in Winter of 2023 and ironically had to put in a little extra effort to pump the brakes and slow down for a spell. Time stops for no one, yet we were able to hold a hand up to the inevitable pressure of January gym resolutions and say no, it’s time to rest.
After a trip around the sun, we are excited for Spring in new ways than previous years. This season is a bridge between the peace of Winter and the playful action of Summer. If you are new to our seasonal perspective, this is the perfect time to jump on board and explore how the seasons naturally nourish your creativity in their own ways. By the way, Happy First Day of Spring!
Over the Winter, we spent time with our journals reflecting on the past, living in the present moment, and planning for the future. Now that Spring is upon us, it’s time to explore what it means to take actions that will help us reach our goals, and determine what those specific actions will be. We’re speaking broadly here on purpose, because those goals could literally be anything. That’s the beauty of being a woman: we can always hold space for possibility.
As we transition from Winter to Spring, we feel a natural shift to transition from reflection to action. Just like the earth, we become ready to thaw out and embrace new growth. With seasonal perspective comes plenty of metaphors as well, and our favorite to explore has been what we call the garden of creativity. Now that our mind, body, and spirit have made peace with the past year after Winter hibernation, it’s time to select our seeds: choosing the goals we wish to achieve for this year.
This is where your vision board and your very existence as a creative woman comes in to play! Creating a vision board is an excellent way to envision those goals and get you excited to achieve them. You already have what it takes to do so, and keeping that vision board in a place where it will inspire you every day will help to keep you on track as the year progresses. Plus, it’s a fun “me time” project to do either alone or with friends.
After selecting our seeds, we begin to take action by planting them in a way that ensures plentiful growth. Do you have goals that are similar to each other? Would the growth of your desires work in tandem with each other? Or would they best flourish in their own areas of your garden?
The action of planting then becomes watering, weeding, and finding a pace for tending our gardens/goals that works best for us. This pace is unique to every woman! And we will be there every step of the way to cheer you on as your seeds take root this season.
Practicing this seasonal lifestyle sparked our love for seasonal events, which began last year as both an IRL and URL Garden Party on the first day of Spring to create vision boards together. This year, our goal is to make these events as accessible as possible to creative women everywhere! We had such a blast gathering in person that it is now our goal for every woman to join and celebrate in her own way, on her own time.
