As women who flourish in spaces of creativity, we learn early on how precious those spaces truly are to our well-being: somewhere we feel completely safe and free, shedding any doubt or possibility of failure. After all, when the ultimate goal is growth, the only way to fail is to deny our right to nourishment and abundance. The cycle of the seasons continues to open our eyes to the vast impermanence of societal norms, instead offering every living being a garden of their own year after year, a place to both invest and receive.
September is a month of transition into a season of celebration. Living with a seasonal perspective has taught us that every step in our journeys is worthy of praise, and waiting until we have given our all and achieved the ultimate goal is simply not necessary. There is love in every root, and joy in every leaf. We encourage you to take this month of transition to appreciate every effort you have put forth this year, no matter how big or small it may seem.

The fruits of your labor are nearly ripe for the picking – in fact, some may even be ready right now! Every creative woman is the leader of her nonlinear journey, and we know better than most how best to thrive on our own timeline. The seasonal cycle reminds us once again that the days are still warm and the evenings still mild. We are in a time of year that will return with every rotation, and this time too shall pass whether we pick our fruits or leave them on the vine to rot. Let yourself enjoy every moment of picking, peeling, and preparing the harvest you have been growing since the Spring.

Here’s the fun part: as lifelong creatives, we are keenly aware that our goals may not appear as they seem, and our path to meet them may be a more scenic route than we anticipate. As you begin to pick the fruits of your labor this week, reflect back on the seeds you planted in the Spring, with all of the hopes and dreams of a giant tree inside a tiny acorn. Did they yield the harvest you wanted, or the nourishment you needed? Perhaps, and hopefully, both?
There are no wrong answers here. You have worked diligently with the grace of letting yourself explore different paths to success, and that grace in itself is an achievement that can almost be considered rebellion: refusing to accept failure in any form, no matter what external expectations we are sure to find along the way, knowing that growth is not about success or failure. Growth is about investing and receiving nourishment, an exchange that comes naturally for even the tiniest honeybee, and pollinates every possibility of abundance from seed to fruition.

If you are looking for right answers, though, those are well within your reach, like the fruits that need a little more time on the vine. They rely on your patience and attention to know when they are ready to be picked. You know you are not leaving them to rot – you are holding that same space of safety and freedom that helps every garden of creativity thrive, for as long as your fruits need to ripen.
We are so grateful to be thriving in yet another seasonal cycle with you, and we celebrate your dedicated growth throughout this year, from seed to harvest. We see you, a powerhouse of creativity, breaking the mold of what is expected of women by simply living your truth. Take this transitional time to begin enjoying the fruits of your labor, ladies. You deserve to savor every bite!
