Your garden yields much more than a bountiful harvest.
The rest and repose we take in the Winter is what nourishes the soil and every life it sustains. Building energy in the Spring inspires just the right seed selection and pace of nourishment as the birds and bees wake from their slumber, only ever knowing their perfect role in the cycles of the seasons. Summer leaves us no choice but to take our lessons and run freely into the unknown, unapologetic in our curiosity and play.
Now, as Fall approaches, we look forward to sharing a bountiful feast with our loved ones at an overflowing table. Our gardens are lush with growth and nearly ready to return our labors of love with the nutrients that will sustain us through to the next cycle.
Even if your garden this year is strictly metaphorical, you know that the fruits of your labor are more than just a temporary reward. It is more than a single meal, no matter how bountiful the feast. It is a representation of your own dedication to becoming your best and most authentic self.
When you watered your seeds, patiently waiting for the first sprout, you reminded yourself that all things come in time. You explored your own needs for when to focus on your goals, and when to keep waiting patiently for them to keep reaching for the sun.
Playing with your inner child, you faced the ultimate challenge of every creative woman: knowing when to let go and simply have fun. With that came the grace to playfully try new ways to approach your goals, and laugh it off upon less than immediate success. This lesson comes every year without fail: to try and try again, being gentle with ourselves because we are constantly learning whether we realize it or not.

You have done all of the above and more this year, as much to your own benefit as those around you. Those who cherish your presence in their lives simply love to watch you grow and will always celebrate alongside you!
This week, instead of focusing a seasonal perspective on your personal or professional life, we encourage you to find a way to be active in your community. You have put so much time and care into balancing your inner ecosystem, and you deserve to feel a harmonious connection with the ecosystems around you.
The beauty of community is that it exists everywhere – just ask the birds and the bees – and there are endless ways to show up for others. Find an afternoon to volunteer at a food bank or animal shelter, or organize a rejuvenating brunch or girl’s night out with loved ones to catch up with each other. Even helping a friend move or offering to carpool can make a world of difference in someone’s day. If you’re excited for Fall festivities, invite your besties over to help you decorate!
Whatever you decide to do, remember that joy and time spent with people precious to you yields more than one garden could ever provide. Let the company of others nourish you as a constant reminder of how wonderful it is to share each other’s presence through each cycle of the seasons.
