Speaking of Event Cosmetics, this giveaway was just a sneak peek of what’s to come. We will continue to partner with this Portland based fabulously-female-owned brand to bring even more exciting and ethically sourced products into your beauty routine.
Make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter so you can revel in the rewards of this collaboration. And if you have a product or service born from your own creative endeavors, we would love to chat with you! Click here to learn more. A flourishing friendship is only ever a message away as we continue to champion virtuosity in women from all walks of life.
Speaking of fabulous female brands, we want to give a special shout out to Drea Groeschel who shared her incredible insight in the latest Between The Bio Podcast episode. You may have had a taste of her most recent innovative brand Better Than Booze if you participated in our Summer Solstice Hike in June. Drea has had a lifelong love for product development and, coupled with her passion for gardening, has developed groundbreaking alcohol-free mocktails that deliver the same taste and experience of a delectable social beverage unlike any other mocktail on the market.
Drea’s example of rejecting labels has quickly become an inspiration to us at Virtuosa Society. Our creativity requires mental flexibility, and in her own words, “We need to be more cautious with our labels. People are more dynamic than that.”
Amen, sister! Click here to soak up more of Drea’s wisdom on the latest Between The Bio Podcast episode.
In the spirit of taking up space, which we as women are too often encouraged not to do, we want to highlight some of the community impacts of our collaborations. Virtuosa Society is dedicated to supporting women through connection, edification, and financial support. After all, where women gather, our stories cultivate growth and generate the power to elevate the whole of society.
We are currently partnering with Healthy Klamath for the Alleyway Activation Project, inviting artists to paint portraits of women who helped shape Klamath Falls into the community as it exists and thrives today. You may have read about this collaboration in a previous newsletter; but what you may not know is that Healthy Klamath is also thriving with a board of incredible women who help keep history alive and continue to uplift the community with their passion and dedication.
On the subject of current partnerships, Event Cosmetics also makes annual donations to the Rose Haven Women and Children’s Shelter in Portland, Oregon.
In their own words:
“Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center serving women, children and gender non-conforming folks experiencing the trauma of abuse, loss of home and other disruptive life challenges.
We break the cycle of homelessness by providing meals, clothing, first aid, mailing addresses, hygiene, restrooms, showers as well as educational programs and guidance through medical and social services. By meeting basic needs and building trust, we empower our guests to explore long-term change.
We are a community within the community of Portland. Rose Haven’s operating model is equitable and inclusive, and removes barriers for women and their children, allowing them to get back on their feet.
At Rose Haven a diverse group of women, children and gender nonconforming folks can be safe and begin their unique healing process. Whether that is simply by having a cup of coffee on the couch and engaging with other women, or by participating in an array of constructive activities, socialization helps fight the dehumanization and invisibility that our guests face.”
Those of you who have followed Virtuosa Society throughout the year may remember our December Giveaway that included an enticing array of products and services from creative women around the country, including artwork by Diné artist Emma Robbins.
Emma’s work is not only a continuous inspiration to artists and women everywhere – it is a way of taking action in the name of the DigDeep Water Project and their ongoing efforts to provide the Navajo Nation with clean and running water. A striking 30% of Native households drive for miles to get water for their families, carefully rationing after each trip to meet the basic needs of their families without sinks or toilets in their homes.
Our goal for collaborations is to support communities and the continued efforts of women who take the helm in the name of healing, equality, and growth; just as our mission is to nurture creativity and virtuosity in women through connection, edification, and financial support.
We thank you for being a part of Virtuosa Society in our first year of growth.
With Love,
The Virtuosa Society Team
